2025 Tournament Results

The Jan 11th, 2025 Curt Gowdy State Park Ice Fishing Tournament was a blast!
The 4am 60mph gusts that threatened our good time shut down almost exactly at 7am, and the fog horns announced the beginning of the event. We had an absolutely beautiful day with a reasonable breeze and a mix of sun, clouds, and snow!
Every year the participants seem to bunch up at North Crow Reservoir and this year was no exception. Crystal Res had sparse ice huts. Granite had a fair turnout. North Crow parking lots were slammed with no room to park, and the res was littered with little red/blue/grey ice huts all screwed into the ice in attempt to mitigate the potential horrendous winds that never came!
Plenty of fish were caught, and smiling faces were everywhere. Every age group was represented. In addition to our local hardwater enthusiasts we had attendance from folks as far north as Casper, east from Nebraska, and south as far as Loveland, CO!
Every species of fish was caught except for the elusive Tiger Muskie, and the winning cash prizes were awarded to some beautiful brown trout. The smallest "rinky dink" custom embroidered hat was awarded to a perch that could fit entirely in one hand!
Thank you to the Laramie County Fire Authority, led by Deputy Chief Manuel Muzquiz and Division Chief Josh Van Vlack. Their team showed up in all their glory with fire trucks, side by sides, trax machines, and drones to provide safety coverage for the event. Thank goodness their skills were not needed. But we were impressed by their kindness and attitude of service here in our Cheyenne community.
Thank you to our great sponsors who help make this event possible, and a wonderful success. If anyone would like to sponsor this event in the future please contact us and we can make arrangements for next year.
From all of us at Wyoming Fishing Tournaments, Thank you for your participation in this gathering. YOUR good times make this event OUR good time! What a success. Stay safe, and have a great year on the ice. See you in 2026!
